New SSL error pages: clearer and stricter error pages are used when Firefox encounters an invalid SSL certificate.New Web Forgery Protection page: the content of pages suspected as web forgeries is no longer shown.Malware Protection: malware protection warns users when they arrive at sites which are known to install viruses, spyware, trojans or other malware.When a site uses Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificates, the site favicon button will turn green and show the name of the company you're connected to. Identity verification is prominently displayed and easier to understand.

One-click site info: Click the site favicon in the location bar to see who owns the site and to check if your connection is protected from eavesdropping.

Een ander speerpunt van deze release is de veiligheid. Zo bevat de browsers onder andere versie 1.9 van Gecko, de 'interne motor' die alle webpagina's afhandelt, wat een positief effect moet hebben op de stabiliteit en performance. Firefox 3.0 bevat een groot aantal veranderingen. Downloads voor Windows, Mac OS X en Linux kunnen op deze pagina in meer dan veertig talen worden gevonden, waaronder in het Engels, het Nederlands en het Fries.

Het lange wachten zit erop, want dinsdagavond heeft Mozilla Foundation de finalrelease van versie 3.0 van zijn webbrowser Firefox vrijgegeven.
